  1. Drink some water first thing in the a.m.

I believe drinking water is massively important but often overlooked. We wake up after a nights sleep slightly dehydrated, which often means starting your day off feeling not too good. In the mornings treat yourself to a nice large glass of water you replenish and rehydrate your body! You could even add a slice of lemon for added benefits. Lemon water is a good source of vitamin C, it supports weight loss, improves your skin quality and aids digestion! This is probably the simplest but kindest thing you can do for you body every day! 


  1. Practice gratitude daily. 

Self care is a lot more than bubble baths and face masks, true self care is looking after your mental health and happiness. By practicing gratitude every day you are reminding yourself of how great your life really is! Feeling gratitude is one of the most beautiful feelings you can feel, give this exercise a go and see how great you feel after! Take yourself to a quiet, peaceful area, sit down, close your eyes and take 5 long, deep breaths. Once you feel your body relax I would like you to think of a moment you are truly grateful for, it can be a huge life changing moment or it can be something small that happened. Really put yourself in that moment and feel exactly how grateful you felt when this happened. Spend a couple of minutes in this beautiful moment. I would like you to then think of another moment you are grateful for and do this again. In total I would like you to remember 3 grateful moment and sit in these moments for a couple of minutes each. Still with your eyes closed, taking long deep breaths. Once you are done gently open your eyes. You can write these moments down afterwards if you would like to. 


  1. Take up yoga/ exercise.

Yoga can help you to come out of your mind and back into your body, yoga is a great tool for practicing mindfulness and it has so many physical and mental health benefits; improves strength, balance and flexibility. Helps with pain relief in the body and can ease arthritis symptoms. Ic benefits your heart. It also can energise you and make your moods brighter. Yoga can help you manage stress and also help you to sleep better. When youexercise, your body releases chemicals calledendorphins. Theseendorphins interact with the receptors in your brain that reduce your perception of pain.Endorphins also trigger a positive feeling in the body. Physical activity also stimulates the release of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin. These brain chemicals play an important part in regulating your mood. Practicing yoga daily (or as often as possible, preferably in the mornings before you eat) can do wondering for your body, your health and your mood!


  1. Practice kegal exercises.

Incase you haven’t heard, toning and strengthening exercises for your pelvic- floor are crucial to overall health down here including better orgasms! And the best part of a Kegel exercise? No one will ever know you’re doing them! Think about what it feels like when you stop your pee mid- stream (though, please don’t that as it can be harmful). That squeeze that happens in your pelvic floor muscles, once you find it, hold the squeeze for 3 to 10 seconds. Do 10 reps of it to begin with, working your way up to 3 sets a day. Self-care that slo improves your sex life? Yes please!!


  1. Meditate.

Meditation can help reduce bloody pressure, as well as symptoms of IBS, anxiety and depression. So this really makes it a valuable skill worth learning! Meditation doesn’t have to be a huge time investment, you can spent as little as 5 minutes meditation or if it interests you, you can spend much longer! The beauty to meditation is that there is no right or wrong way to do it. If you are new and need help, there are 1000s of useful guided meditation videos on youtube you can try. You can even find certain types of meditation, for example you can try typing in things like “meditation for self love” “morning meditation to start you day” “meditation to help me sleep” You get the idea!
